Fundamental Movement Skills and Physical Literacy

DANCEPL3Y is the world leader in developing physical literacy through dance. The classes allow students to explore and play with dance as movement, as opposed to focusing on formal dance technique. Students learn and develop fundamental movement skills and rhythms which develop physical literacy.

Positive Coaching Philosophy
Students are encouraged to express themselves confidently and creatively as they discover and dance in their Bubble of Awesome and follow the 3 Rules of PLAY: Be Positive. Be Fun. Be Yourself.

Variety of dance styles
DANCEPL3Y is designed to allow students to discover the wide range of dance styles rather than focusing on a specific style. Each workshop allows students to learn fundamental rhythms and elements of different dance styles including Hip Hop, Urban/Street, Ballroom, Latin, Modern, Jazz/Funk, Country, African, Bollywood and more!

Daily Physical Activity
DANCEPL3Y allows students to experience success – success breeds motivation and motivated students love to move! DANCEPL3Y is guaranteed to meet the requirements for Daily Physical Activity!

Curriculum-based Learning
DANCEPL3Y School Residency Workshops are directly linked to the Physical education and Dance/Arts Curriculum, helping teachers assess curriculum expectations such as: physical activity, active participation, creative and critical thinking, understanding culture, interpersonal skills, communication, and movement skills, concepts and strategies

InterACTIVE teaching style
DANCEPL3Y uses playful group formations and an interACTIVE teaching approach which makes learning dance less intimidating and more fun. Students engage with one another, developing interpersonal skills and building a positive school climate.
